Better know for their high end CD, DVD transport, D/A converters and Surround sound processors, Theta Digital are now introducing a state-of-the-art modular Multi channel power amplifier to compliment their world acclaimed digital surround sound processors or any other 2 to 5 channels pre-amplifier or processor.
The DREADNAUGHT is a modular amplifier which can be configured as a two, three, four or five channels amplifier. The modular design of the power amplification channels allows for the user to begin with a two channel amplifier (or three or four) and add up to five channels whenever the need for additional channels arises. Of course it is also available out-of-the-box with all of the five channel modules.
The Dreadnaught is a Zero-feedback, fully Differential amplifier from input to output, capable of producing a minimum of 200 watts per channel into 8 Ohms with all five channels driven and 400 watts into 4 Ohms, capable of handling continous loads as low as 2 Ohms.
There are two inputs per channels, one single ended on RCA and one Balanced on XLR. The amplifier can be activated remotely via triggers from a processor such as the Theta Casablanca or the Casa Nova. Furthermore the front panel switches, as well as the triggers inputs allow the user to switch on independently two channels only or all channels, which is practical for stereo only listening. I/O RS232 port is available as an option for connection to computers or other control devices such as Creston or AMX.
Theta Dreadnaughts will be available from the middle of November and will be on permanent demonstration at Audio Imports’ retail store in Village Walk, Sandton, Tel: (011) 783-6226
